Like for most restaurants in NYC, the pandemic represented a unprecedented challenge. When our clients reached out looking for an answer to outdoor dining, we knew there was more that we could bring to the table. The Winter Village was an opportunity to put a spin on a dining format with a unique service style that became signature to the Rule of Thirds experience.

"...like a alleyway in Kyoto" became the driving motto behind the whole concept. A series of private cabins create a narrow walkway along a courtyard. Guests arriving can peak into the rooms through no-ren style doors, previewing an experience that is intimate and with a sense of occasion. Blurring what was originally intended for isolation into a sofisticated extension to the original restaurant.

With a couple of steps up, the guests are slightly elevated allowing the service to be conducted at an eye level. The hosts then have a more personal interaction with guests, the rooms are serviced from an interior corridor a slight nod to Japanese counters.
